A collection of photos shot around downtown LA one night while shooting pics for People Assisting The Homeless. Riding a Vespa scooter, I visited some sad parts of my city while trying to make sense of it. I can't!I cobbled together 7 or 8 of my pics in a way that seemed to capture my impressions of the night.
Vancouver, Canada - Not the Hotel California but has it's own charm, cheap food and free underlying depression. Not sure how I found it but it seemed like the place for me.
Agh.. the good old days of drinking... lotsa fun... lotsa wasted time... lotsa excuses....

Commentary was soon required - I guess I should have seen the warning signs and gathering storm.
Three days in Belfast for Washing Windows concerts at the Intercontinental Hotel (most bombed hotel in Belfast). Now they sell the conflict as tourist attraction. Take a Tour of the Monuments to the Murdered, barbed wire and bullet holes.
Jib Jab! Remember the good old days... lines, bleach, horse medications, chaos, hoaxes, hand washing, mask, ventilators, etc., etc.
All from Palermo - just not all from the same place. Lipstick and happiness like features added for effect.
Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale, Mississippi - home of the Delta Blues. Very distressed with lotsa of closed storefronts.
Stayed in old slave quarters that is now a destination hotel. Only white people stay their now. All the amenities of newspaper and aprons for curtains.
Overheard, "Oh honey, isn't this quaint."
Saw some of the legends of Delta Blues who played with all the great names.
Sadly, still having to play and still struggling to make a living.
